As of 8/22/17 we have our very first Service Dog candidate to test out. Her name is Zoey and she is a 1 yr old Great Dane female. If she tests out and stays on for training she will be spayed at 18 months old. We did find out the day after picking her up that she has been off of Heartworm Prevention since November 2016 so she will be tested in the next couple of days. The rest of her vaccinations are also due in December. If you would like to donate towards her medical care the information is located on our Auctions and Donations page.
Zoeys Heartworm and Tick Disease Test came back Negative. We are Very Happy.
9/2/17 Zoey is coming along well in her training. So far she knows Sit, Down, Stand and Up Touch. We are working on Stay, Look at Me, and Brace, where I just put a hand on her back while she is standing.
2/1/18 We have sadly decided to wash out Zoey as a Service Dog due to a noise sensitivity issue. She has been adopted to a wonderful home!
As of 6/11/18 we have a German Shepherd named Sam/Camo, we are in the process of changing his name. He is a 18mo male and he came to us with no vaccine history and had been receiving only a partial heartworm pill monthly. We were lucky to be able to get to one of the local mobile clinics and get all his vaccinations, worming and heartworm test done for $66. His heartworm test was negative and he will be started on prevention and he is scheduled to be neutered on the 28th of June.
Sam/Camo has started SD training and will most likely be staying here to be my personal SD.
Camo washed out, also due to a noise sensitivity issue, and has been placed in a pet home.
